Shameless self promotion

I noticed I’ve not been very consistent language-wise in my blog.
And I’ve also noted, again, that I suck at putting up a regular blog.
Now I’m sitting at work, with nothing to do (that’s VERY rare, don’t go thinking I just sit around all day), and so I decided to dust off this blog again.
And while I’m in the internshipmode anyway, I’ll just spam some of our shows ^^

The first one is Yllana – Brokers.
It’s a great non-verbal show, about the crazy lifes of stockbrokers. I was laughing out loud the entire show, the combination of fast-paced sketches and brilliant use of soundeffects was awesome.
Here, have a preview:

The second one is the British Pop Invasion.
This show is more music-based, and is about the period of time where the British pop took over the world. Great music, great musicians, great show :)
Preview? Ok:

Then there’s the opera’s.
Both Aïda and Die Zauberflöte have blown me away. I am one of the very few young people that loves opera. The grandeur, the vocal extremeties, the classical music, all ingredients for a night out in style :)
I don’t have a promo of these shows right here, but we all know the aria by the Queen of Night, right?

Right. That’s all for now.
I’ll get back to work ;)

Everybody’s safe, in their little house

Gonna blow this town, gonna hit the road

Long time no bloggin’… Again… (a)

But this time, I have got news! Good news!

On tuesday, I, me, Anne, passed my driving exam! XD

So now a whole new world (yes, think of that song here) opened up for me, filled with cars, highways and petrol.

And I am now one step closer to the car of my dreams. (Yes, I am well aware that I’ll have to be folded up to fit inside it. I just don’t care :p)

I am ready for a lot of this:

Sometimes it lasts in love

I am very sorry, but I had to spam this video here as well…

I was deeply touched when I first saw this footage. I sat an watched in awe, because Adele sings this song from her heart and soul.

The song itself is not particularly difficult to sing. The accompaniment is a mere piano, and the lyrics are not even that poetic.

But the tears in her eyes, and the tremble in her voice at the brigde, those make this a touching song.

One at a time, I watch them all forget

I voted.

That in itself is not such a big surprise, since I always do, but this time it felt different. Not only did I feel like I wanted to be represented in the government, but it was bigger.
Seeing the whole collapsing/rebirth of the Arabic world has made me realise what a luxury we (the Dutch) live in. Not only to we get to vote for the leaders of our country, we also get to vote for who gets to run our local government, our province, and Europe!
And on this moment, people are dying (literaly, loosing their lives) in Libya to gain just a small portion of that freedom.
Knowing this makes me angry at people who “don’t care enough” to vote.
It’s your right and your freedom, use it.

Sun in the sky, you know how I feel

I am SO happy!!
I’ve just passed the theory exam for my driving license :p In order to pass I had to answer 65 questions, split in 3 clusters. In the first part (consisting of 25 questions) I was allowed 12 mistakes (I made 4), and in the other two parts combined (grand total of 40 questions) I was allowed 5 mistakes (I made 0. Yes people, that’s a zero :p).
Right now I am floating, and happy, and giddy, and bouncy, and way more words that express the positive feeling that’s gotten into me ^^
Now on to the final exam. I am prepared, bring it on!

When I get my driving license, I will start saving up for this car <3

And then winter was back with full force! :p

I just returned from a nice refreshing walk through Leeuwarden (from the Grote Kerk, by the Oldehove, to AvP, by AH XL and back past the Schrans). It might seem a bit weird, but I just love midnight walks… And since I love snow too, this was double the fun ^^
I didn’t dare making any snowangels or snowmen (it’s just less fun by yourself, plus, people tend to stare…), but I did grasp every chance I had to walk through the ‘fresh’ patches of snow ^^

Tomorrow I’m buying milk, and then I will make some good ol’ hot coco <3

(Mine never turn out this pretty :p)

And there’s glitter on the floor

Is spring coming up?

All around me I see people make drastic changes in their lives, especially when it comes to love.

I broke up with Basje a few weeks ago, and now Thomas and Sanne are single, Janna is too, and so are my niece, aunt and schoolmate.
That makes a grand total of 6 couples (that I know of) in 3 weeks time O.o

Luckily there’s positive messages on the side of love as well. One of my nieces is getting married this year, and another niece is getting a “samenlevingscontract”. A girl from church will also get married in 2011.

Extra special in the two marriage messages is that both girls have parents who got divorced not too long ago. I am so happy to see that they have not lost faith in love and marriage. You may call me a hopeless romantic, but I still believe in true and undying love.

Valentines however, is not something I’m looking forward to this year… But who knows, maybe next year I’ll be head-over-heels again ^^
